Allentown chiropractor sentenced to prison for insurance fraud, attacking girlfriend

Dean Ziegler, 49, previously pleaded guilty to one count of insurance fraud, admitting he billed several companies for more than $6,000 of work he did not complete, according to court records.

Ziegler also previously admitted he broke his girlfriend's nose and threw her down the stairs at his business, which was at his home on the 100 block of South 14th Street.

"I believe I'm a good and caring doctor who always cares about my patients," Ziegler said today before Lehigh County Judge Maria Dantos.

"If I could change what happened, I would," he said. "I can only change myself and what lies ahead, and what lies ahead relies solely upon myself."

Ziegler was sentenced to four to 12 months for the insurance fraud and one to 11 months for simple assault. In all, he faces up to almost two years in Lehigh County Prison.

Ziegler requested house arrest or immediate work release so he could continue working until his chiropractor license is revoked.

But Dantos said Ziegler minimized his crimes in private with his probation officer. She said she did not believe he was truly remorseful.

"You're not as smart as you think you are," Dantos said.

She rejected the request for house arrest, and made him eligible for work release only after half his sentence is served.

Glenn McGogney, Ziegler's defense attorney, said Ziegler's girlfriend has professed her love for Ziegler since the attack and wished to be reconcile with him.

McGogney hoped house arrest would allow Ziegler to work off his $6,300 in restitution, as well as pay child support for his 9-year-old daughter in Iowa.

But Lehigh County Senior Deputy District Attorney David Mussel echoed Dantos' claims that Ziegler had not fully taken responsibility for the crime, calling him a "spin doctor."

"He's been talking a lot in circles, a lot of misdirection," Mussel said. "In a sense, judge, he thinks everyone is dumber than he is."

Ziegler was released today to take care of his affairs and work and will report back to prison Friday to begin his sentence, Dantos said.

In exchange for pleading guilty to insurance fraud, 15 related felony charges were withdrawn, according to court records.

Ziegler could have faced up to seven years for the insurance fraud charge and up to two years for the simple assault charge, according to state law.

His criminal history not only includes Fraud, but also harassment, abuse, and other summary offenses. There are many chiropractors in the Allentown Area. One of the most important tasks of a doctor is to examine and evaluate the patient he/she is going to be treating. Without the proper evaluation, the treatment plan can not be established.

In the case of Dean Kevin Ziegler of Ziegler Chiropractic (Allentown, PA), he does a half a$$ initial evaluation and then thats it, although he has charged for exams with EVERY visit. WHAT A FRAUD!!! Oh that's right.

Well... some of Dean Kevin Zieglers of Ziegler Chiropractic (Allentown, PA) interesting cases came to light. I have known his tactics but it took a bit to get all this together in a fashion for the average Joe to understand. One thing with this crook, he uses the fact that people are uneducated with insurance and healthcare in order to take advantage of the system. Well thats why I am here.... To educate you so this jagoff can rip you off no longer.

There is a lot of information here, but the key information is highlighted. Take note with trends on all ends. Its not hard to miss them when everything is shown together. I do this on a spreadsheet at the end.

One important thing to take away.... You go to a doctor to get treated so you can feel better. If the doctor is not going to evaluate you properly (OR NOT EVALUATE AT ALL ON A REGULAR BASIS) how can you trust the treatment you are getting??? YOU CAN'T!!! And the information below proves it.... DO NOT TRUST DEAN KEVIN ZIEGLER... HE IS A FRAUD!!!!! That is irrefutable....

Oh.... You didn't know he was a hypocrite too???

I love having moles planted to get me juicy info to pass on about Dean Kevin Ziegler of Ziegler Chiropractic (Allentown, PA). About that.... Time is ticking down :-)

I just received a phone call from one of them that directed me to my email. And here you go.....

When Dean Kevin Ziegler of Ziegler Chiropractic (Allentown, PA) was standing in front of Judge Maria Dantos when being sentenced for his CRIMINAL FELONY CHARGE OF FRAUD and ASSAULT, This offense comes with up to 7 years of prison time and up to $15,000 of fines.

The judge acknowledged:

Dean Kevin Ziegler of Ziegler Chiropractic [not for long] (Allentown, PA) beats, kicks, throws another human being down a flight of stairs, endangers the life of said human being, has a history of endangering the life of another human being, years of committing fraud before/on the very day of leaving for jail/and after jail and actually has quite an extensive criminal history otherwise.

Dean Kevin Ziegler of Ziegler Chiropractor (Allentown, PA) asks the judge for house arrest or work release so he can work off his restitution and fines. And commit more fraud, which I have showed he did, so he can bank as much money as he can before he lost his license. What a total nut job.

Now the hypocrisy. He has the nerve to commit crimes (multiple times) that cause physical harm and potential loss of life to others. As well as committing a FELONY by taking advantage of patients over the time period of several years by falsifying medical records and stealing money from insurance companies.

The worst part of the hypocrisy.... He doesn't think he has done anything wrong. What an idiot. If he didn't do anything wrong he wouldn't have spent time in jail or lost his license.

And he has the nerve to condemn a young man that only received 6 months jail time for raping an unconscious girl. And apparently, since Dean Kevin Ziegler of Ziegler Chiropractic [NOT FOR LONG] (Allentown, PA) is so concerned about it, he posted it twice.

Dean Kevin Ziegler of Ziegler Chiropractic (Allentown, PA) Really needs to focus on his own faulty life before he tries to point fault on others (especially when he has to make it up).
